The central scene depicts the Virgin seated on a throne of clouds holding the Blessing Baby Jesus in her arms and at her side St. Joseph holding a flowered staff.
In the right foreground is St. Bartholomew kneeling, in the act of interceding for Lipari, with a book and a bloody knife at his feet, his iconographic attributes.
In the background, at lower left, is a glimpse of Lipari at the time with the castle fortress still crowded with houses and the church of Santa Maria della Neve or Anime del Purgatorio in the center of the small peninsula of Marina Corta.
Due to the presence of thematic motifs related to the place, it cannot be ruled out that the painting is locally made.
